Here we rest: The first Motto of jason isbells home stage got changed in the early part of last century to a latin
phrase translating to "we dare defend our rights".
Place plays aprominent role in the songs on Jason Isbell and The
400 Units new album, 'Here We Rest'. Taking a break from a gruelling touring schedule,
Jason(previusley of the Drive-By Truckers) spent significantly more time at home while writing this album. The tim e off also had an affect on the
musical sensibilities that shaped the album.
KingsWood(singe launch) With the Pretty Littles and The Give
Called “the perfect blend of rip-snorting, muscular rock that claims Josh Homme as its patron saint, and melodic
stoner punk,” by Triple J Magazine Editor Jaymz Clements, four-piece indie rock band Kingswood is rock ‘n’ roll
revival at its finest, or wildest, both onstage and off. Their debut single ‘Yeah Go Die’ combines howling harmonies,
suspenseful breaks and a heart-pounding drumbeat that drives the song right through. The untamed,
Page-influenced riff is accompanied by melodic vocal harmonies that reflect the name Kingswood. The band formed
in 2007 when three high school mates and one mutual friend all located in the Prahran/St Kilda area came together.
With a clear art for song writing, backed by all four members lending their vocals to the mix, Kingswood provides a
refreshing strength to their wholesome Aussie rock shenanigans.

AMANDA PALMER and THE GRAND THEFT ORCHESTRA (USA) Residency with DJ Dameza and special guest Mikelangelo and Brednen Maclean
Amanda Palmer, founder of legendary punk cabaret band The Dresden Dolls, is gearing up to record a new album
this March (here in Melbourne!) with her smashing all-new American back-up band, The Grand Theft Orchestra.
She’s imported all the lads from over the States and they’ve picked the Northcote Social Club as the perfect spot for
a five-night residency to road-test their tunes before hitting the studio. Tunes Palmer claims are “highly danceable”.
Palmer tends to bring a circus with her… expect surprise guests, DJs, and other confounding ephemera. Dress to
impress.
